It adds Claro’s LTE network to the iBasis global LTE footprint, which includes more than 80 LTE network destinations worldwide. Claro was the first mobile operator to offer LTE service in Brazil with the 2012 launch of 4GMax.

“The demand for LTE speed and quality is peaking worldwide, and with the World Cup next month and the Olympics in 2016, enabling LTE roaming in Brazil is especially important,” said Willem Offerhaus, CEO of iBasis.
