Anevia and NXP Software join hands to improve OTT mobile video quality

Telecom Lead America: Anevia, a provider of video
streaming solutions and service infrastructure for live TV and video on demand,
and NXP Software, provider of multimedia software for mobile devices and
services, will create a multiscreen video streaming solution that enhances the
user experience from over the top (OTT) video services.

Their joint solution is expected to allow service
providers to offer improved Quality of Service, as well as advanced features
and multilingual support.

The solution features Anevia’s ViaMotion server software
and NXP Software’s LifeVibes QuickPlayer video engine.

Anevia ViaMotion repackages live and on-demand video
content into HTTP adaptive bitrate streaming formats. It is designed to ingest
live multi-bitrate TS video streams from video encoders. LifeVibes QuickPlayer
enables viewers to access video and audio content across a range of
smart-phones and tablets.

Service providers can improve overall quality of service
by implementing Anevia ViaMotion and LifeVibes QuickPlayer as part of an
end-to-end OTT video delivery infrastructure solution.

Advanced features of the joint solution include
multilingual subtitles and closed captioning for mobile devices that support
Apple HLS and Google Android. The joint NXP Software and Anevia solution also
supports fast-channel switching, creating a viewing experience similar to
traditional TV.

Anevia has over 1,000 deployments in 70 countries,
representing millions of users and over 25,000 live channels. Anevia delivers
multiscreen video services infrastructure to telecom operators, broadcast service
providers and the hospitality market.
