SVOD subscribers in Middle East to reach 14 mn

Subscription-based video on demand (SVOD) will reach 14 million in the Middle East in 2023 from around 3 million in 2017.
SVOD subscriber forecast for Midlle EastTurkey, Saudi Arabia and UAE will continue to count among the leading countries in terms of subscribers and revenues, analyst firm Dataxis said.

The blended average revenue per user (ARPU) remains under $5 in the Middle East region. The digital video revenues will increase substantially, with SVOD’s subscription revenues accounting for almost 90 percent of the total in 2023.

The demand for digital video in the Middle East region must be seen in relation with the presence of free-to-air content and with the lack of connectivity in certain countries.
