Orange Belgium has partnered with CommScope to purchase set tops (STBs) powered by the Android TV operating system (OS) designed to provide both live television and premium streaming services to its subscribers.
“Through our partnership with CommScope, we are excited to offer our subscribers with a set top that enhances their live and premium streaming entertainment viewing and provides them with the services they have come to expect,” Thomas Parvais, Director Fixed Access Broadband & TV Services at Orange Belgium, said.
Orange Belgium subscribers will benefit from connected 4K UHD digital video decoder that provides OTT streaming services, on-demand, and broadcast TV services. Subscribers will have access to premium streaming apps, a multiscreen cloud recording service, and the ability to cast movies, music and more to the TV with Chromecast built-in.
Subscribers can talk to Google to search for movies and shows, control their TV and smart home devices, get answers, and more.

Orange Slovensko has already deployed Android TV operating system (OS)-powered set tops (STBs) in August 2021. CommScope and Orange will continue to launch similar platforms to additional affiliates throughout the course of 2022.
