BT names Michael Sherman as chief strategy and transformation officer

BT announced the appointment of Michael Sherman as chief strategy and transformation officer – responsible to develop and drive the company’s strategy, customer experience and transformation programs.

Michael Sherman, who will report to BT CEO Gavin Patterson, will join from management consulting and business strategy firm Boston Consulting Group, where he’s spent the last 11 years leading its Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice in the United States.

Earlier, BT hired former Ofwat CEO Cathryn Ross as BT’s director of Regulatory Affairs in January and Sabine Chalmers, the former Anheuser-Busch InBev executive, as general counsel to join in April 2018.

BT appointed Bas Burger as the CEO of Global Services from 1 June 2017. BT named Marc Allera, CEO of EE, to lead consumer business, bringing together BT’s Consumer and EE businesses in September last year.

Michael Sherman, before BCG, spent nearly eight years as executive vice president at enterprise software company Viewlocity. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Duke University. He also earned an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
