Altice to hire Alcatel-Lucent CEO Michel Combes as COO

Altice COO Michel Combes

Michel Combes, who’s leaving Alcatel-Lucent as CEO, will be joining French cable giant Altice as chief operating officer (COO).

Combes will also be chairman of the board at Altice’s Numericable-SFR combination, according to media reports.

Michel Combes decided to step down from Alcatel-Lucent after finalizing its deal to be acquired by Nokia in a deal valued at €15.6 billion.

Alcatel-Lucent Chairman Philippe Camus will be taking over in an interim role.

Combes joined Alcatel-Lucent two and a half years ago to transform the telecom networking firm. Before Alcatel-Lucent, he had served at Vodafone Europe as CEO and at Orange as CFO.
