Carlos Posa Albert is the newly appointed CEO of Bluevia, a FTTH (Fiber to the Home) infrastructure operator owned by Telefonica Group and a consortium of Vauban Infrastructure Partners and Credit Agricole Assurances.

The appointment of Carlos Posa Albert marks a transition for the company as it shifts its focus from deploying its network to accelerating commercialization.

Bluevia is a wholesale fiber network operator that supports multiple internet service providers, leveraging Telefonica’s expertise in fiber network deployment and operations. It has played a significant role in bridging the digital gap in rural Spain, aligning with sustainability goals and enhancing connectivity.

Background and Career:

Current Role Before Bluevia: Director of Devices, Supply Chain, and Circular Economy at Telefonica Spain.

Career with Telefonica:

Began in 2005 as Devices Director in the international area of Telefonica Móviles.

Served as CEO of Telyco (Telefonica’s retail subsidiary) in 2017.

Held roles in Mexico and London focusing on commercial strategies.

In 2020, became Director of the Convergent Segment, Self-Employed, and Horeca (hospitality) segment in Telefonica Spain.

Previous Experience: Business consultant at Europraxis, where he developed strategic insights.

Under his leadership, Bluevia aims to intensify its commercial momentum; maximize the value of its 5 million-premises network, focusing on underserved and low-density areas in Spain and maintain operational excellence and explore new growth opportunities as an open-access FTTH platform.
