The state-owned BSNL continues to dominate the wired broadband business in India with 5.49 million customers.

Reliance Jio has 3.71 million wired broadband customers. Bharti Airtel has 3.69 million wired broadband customers.

Atria Convergence Technologies has 1.95 million wired broadband customers.

Hathway Cable & Datacom has 1.08 million wired broadband customers.

India has 24.29 million wired broadband subscribers.

The top five wireless broadband service providers are Reliance Jio (443.86 million), Bharti Airtel (202.27 million), Vodafone Idea (123.52 million), BSNL (18.19 million) and Tikona Infinet (0.30 million).

The total broadband subscribers increased from 808.60 million at the end of July-21 to 813.47 million at the end of August-21 with a monthly growth rate of 0.60 percent, says the latest TRAI data.

Fixed broadband revenues will increase at a CAGR of 6.9 percent over 2020-2025 in line with steady rise in broadband average revenue per user (ARPU) due to growing consumer adoption of higher value broadband plans, GlobalData said in 2020.

Projected growth in the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) subscriptions due to the government efforts to expand fiber-optic broadband connectivity to over 600,000 villages nationwide by 2022 will further support the growth.

Fiber broadband lines will expand at the CAGR of 15.3 percent. Growth in fiber broadband lines will be driven by the focus on expansion of fiber-network infrastructure by the government and operators like Reliance Jio.
