ITU changes dates of several telecom events

International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has decided to postpone the dates for the upcoming World Information Society (WSIS) Forum, as well as the AI for Good Global Summit in the wake of the global COVID-19 outbreak.
Coronavirus ChinaWorld Information Society (WSIS) Forum will be conducted from 31 August to 4 September 2020.

AI for Good Global Summit will be held from 21 to 25 September 2020.

Both events will take place at the same venue – the ITU Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG), open to representatives of Member States, Sector Members and to chairmen and vice-chairmen of Study Groups, will be postponed until 2 to 5 June 2020.

ITU said the 17th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium, originally planned for 15 to 17 April 2020, will be postponed and new dates will be communicated shortly.

The dates and venue for the Global Symposium for Regulators on 1 to 3 September 2020 remain unchanged.

The Government of the Swiss Confederation On Friday, 28 February 2020 announced and put into effect a ban on large-scale events which involve more than 1000 people.
