Dish Network lost 259,000 subscribers impacting revenue

Dish Network has reported that its pay-TV business, which includes both satellite TV and streaming service Sling TV, lost 259,000 subscribers during the first quarter compared to a decline of 94,000 in the first quarter of 2018.

Net income of Dish Network fell to $340 million, or 65 cents per share, in the first quarter ended March 31, from $368 million, or 70 cents per share, a year earlier.

Revenue of Dish Network fell about 8 percent to $3.19 billion in the first quarter of 2019 from $3.46 billion for the corresponding period in 2018.

The company closed the first quarter with 12.063 million total Pay-TV subscribers, including 9.639 million DISH TV subscribers and 2.424 million Sling TV subscribers.
