AT&T U-verse Internet service achieves 10 million customer mark

AT&T U-verse high speed Internet service has achieved the 10 million customer mark.

In the third quarter of 2013, total U-verse high speed Internet subscribers represented about 60 percent of all wireline broadband subscribers, compared with 43 percent in the year-earlier quarter.

Since announcing Project VIP one year ago, AT&T’s Project Velocity IP, its multi-billion dollar, three-year investment plan to improve its wireless and wireline IP networks, the company added about 2.5 million broadband customer locations.

AT&T is looking at expanding IP broadband to reach about 57 million customer locations by the end of 2015.

AT&T plans to raise Internet speeds up to 75 and 100 Mbps in the future from 45 Mbps download speeds. 45 Mbps download speeds are available in 79 markets

AT&T reported 9.7 million high speed Internet subscribers and 5.3 million TV subscribers in Q3. Total U-verse revenue grew 28 percent in the third quarter, compared with the same quarter a year earlier. The company has built a $12 billion annualized revenue stream from scratch in seven years.
