Mindspeed Technologies and Bravo Tech to showcase TD-SCDMA femtocell

Telecom Lead @ Mobile Asia Expo 2012: Mindspeed
Technologies and Bravo Tech (BTI) will showcase TD-SCDMA femtocell.

The association highlights BTI’s commercially-available
TD-SCDMA /Wi-Fi access point, which features Mindspeed’s ARM-based PC202
system-on-chip (SoC).

They will showcase smartphones sending and receiving
voice, video and data communications via a production-grade femto gateway in
China Mobile’s 3G network.

Mobile Asia Expo delegates visiting the Mindspeed booth
can also use their own TD-SCDMA handsets to try out the BTI femtocell for voice
calls and mobile web access.

Mindspeed is delighted that our SoCs are powering BTI’s
innovative small cell solutions for the Chinese market. BTI is a pioneer in the
Chinese femtocell market and we look forward to further collaborations with
them in Asia and around the world. We are very pleased to host a public
femtocell demonstration for service providers, customers, press and analysts at
this year’s show,” said Huan-yu Su, vice president of business development
for the wireless business unit at Mindspeed.

“Our initial 2012 rollout of femtocells for the
Chinese market has been a tremendous success. Mindspeed’s SoC processor family
delivers multi-standard operation with carrier-grade performance, which has
allowed us to get to market quickly with a full-featured femtocell that
addresses the specific demands of TD-SCDMA customers,” said Dong Wu, chief
technology officer at BTI.

Mindspeed’s Transcede processors are complete NodeB and
eNodeB SoC solutions that support concurrent 3G and LTE processing, including
TD-SCDMA, W-CDMA, HSPA+ and both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE with a roadmap to
LTE-Advanced.

Combining 3G and LTE processing capabilities into a
single chip is more cost effective for OEMs and the inclusion of a
carrier-class physical-layer (PHY) software solution for both 3G and LTE will
accelerate time to market, while simplifying development and reducing risk.

Mindspeed has portfolio of small cell SoCs, from
residential to enterprise to pico/metro applications. Transcede devices are
supported by a carrier-class software reference design to accelerate
time-to-market schedules.

The reference design includes RF module integration, a
real-time Linux board support package and standard-compliant PHY implementation
for LTE and W-CDMA and TD-SCDMA, with associated utilities and test scripts.
