Vidyo offers extended interoperability with Microsoft Lync

Telecom Lead America: Personal telepresence provider
Vidyo will offer extended interoperability with Microsoft Lync.

The new development will enable businesses that use
Microsoft Lync to offer employees the benefits of the Vidyo platform.

The VidyoConferencing infrastructure provides video
layout to the Lync client as well as enables Lync interoperability with legacy
systems and Vidyo endpoints at better price points and scale.

This enhanced support will allow Lync users to work with
Vidyo’s award-winning multipoint, HD video conferencing with the choice to use
the most suitable endpoint for their collaboration meetings.

“The requirement for IT organizations to support
hybrid environments for video conferencing with disparate desktop and mobile
devices, room systems from multiple vendors, and geographic locations is
increasing,” said Ashish Gupta, Vidyo’s CMO and SVP Corporate Development.

“Extending the VidyoConferencing infrastructure to
support Microsoft Lync will deliver multipoint conferencing and
interoperability to Lync users at a lower cost than hardware-based legacy
systems with up to seven fold savings,” Gupta added.

Vidyo offers HD quality services. In addition to
HD-quality experiences on a full range of devices, from smart phones and
tablets to immersive telepresence rooms, Vidyo’s interoperability with Lync
will allow organizations to have users join a Vidyo conference from any device.

“Vidyo meets the demands of those employees looking
for multiparty conferences from heterogeneous endpoints and networks. The
addition of Vidyo’s interoperability with Microsoft Lync gives a company’s CIO
the option to provide the Vidyo solution to those who need to engage in
HD-quality multipoint conferences, while at the same time gives them the
ability to connect easily with other users on Lync or traditional VC
solutions,” said Zeus Kerravala, founder and principal, ZK Research.

The Vidyo communication platform is software-based,
highly flexible and can be easily customized for individual enterprise and
vertical market video conferencing needs. The VidyoRouter architecture employs
Adaptive Video Layering, which optimizes the video for each endpoint leveraging
H.264 Scalable Video Coding (SVC)-based compression technology and Vidyo’s IP.
