ITI wins FTTH deal from Bharti Airtel

ITI has received an order from Bharti Airtel for the rolling out of FTTH in eight circles, according to media reports.

Airtel is India’s largest private sector broadband player with 2.5 million customers.

ITI has posted a profit after tax of Rs 150.86 crore and turnover of Rs 2403.45 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2020.

Airtel’s long distance infrastructure provides a pan-India reach with 306,788 Rkms of optical fiber. Airtel provides fixed-line telephone and broadband services for homes in 117 cities pan-India.

As on June 30, 2020, Airtel had broadband operations in 117 cities with 2.45 million customers. For the quarter ended June 30, 2020, revenues from Homes operations were Rs 5,786 million as compared to Rs 5,705 million in the corresponding quarter last year and Rs 5,725 million in the previous quarter.

Airtel incurred capital expenditure of Rs 1,182 million primarily on account of high speed fiber network expansion during the quarter ended June 30, 2020.
