Airtel Payments Bank-Mastercard online cards cross 2 mn users in India

Airtel Payments Bank-Mastercard powered online debit and prepaid cards have received two million subscribers in India.

The Indian telecom company added two million users within five months of launch. This digital payments solution enables Airtel Payments Bank customers to make secure and convenient digital payments at over 100,000 ecommerce websites and other online portals.

All Airtel Payments Bank customers can access the online card via My Airtel app inside the bank section.

“We are delighted with the customer response to our online debit and prepaid cards that further validates the growing acceptance of our digital payment platform in India,” said Shashi Arora, MD and CEO of Airtel Payments Bank.

Mastercard said its processing platform supported by its payment technology center in Pune, India, enables digital payment services including switching, card management and ensures support for reconciliation and dispute management processes.
