Airtel: Wynk Music achieves 50 million users

Airtel networkTelecom operator Bharti Airtel today said Wynk Music app has achieved 50 million users in India.

According to TRAI, India has more than 900 million mobile connections.

Wynk Music app plays close to one billion songs per month and achieved 200 percent growth in daily streams over last year.

Wynk Music app has achieved 25 percent growth in daily time spent per user.

Wynk now has the highest number of active daily users in its category, as per App Annie data.

Wynk is amongst the most downloaded music streaming apps in India with close to 100,000 daily installs. 45 percent of the overall Wynk users are non-Airtel customers.

“To be able to continue driving innovation and upping the user experience, we have rolled out a few app monetization pilots, which we plan to scale up as part of our growth strategy,” said Kartik Sheth, CEO – Wynk.

Wynk’s design help users to save up to 70 percent data.

Bollywood music is the most popular category for Wynk users, making up 54 percent of overall songs plays. English music has grown to 26 percent and Regional music makes up for the remaining share.

Wynk’s curated content has close to 3 million songs from over 500 labels in 12 regional languages.
