Ceragon Networks says three mobile operators in India have given orders totaling nearly $40 million for purchasing its IP-20 Platform for expanding their 4G services

The provider of wireless backhaul solutions did not reveal the name of the Indian telecom operators who are making investments in Ceragon Networks solutions.

Reliance Jio Infocomm, Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone are the leading telecom operators in India with 4G presence.

“The three Ceragon customers have placed orders totaling nearly $40 million, year to date, whereby approximately 25 percent of related revenue was recognized in Q1 2016 and the remainder will be recognized in the coming quarters,” said Ceragon Networks.

Ceragon Networks says the IP-20 Platform’s multicore technology enables the telecom operators to enhance quality of service for achieving high subscriber acquisition rates by supplying adequate 4G capacity. It offers ability to double capacity as future bandwidth requirements increase.

Ceragon’s multicore technology helps the telecom operators to meet service demands in populated circles where fiber is not available and wireless backhaul spectrum is hard to find as it provides up to 1Gbps 4G backhaul using as little as a single narrowband frequency channel.

The Ceragon technology increases operational efficiency and delivers significant Capex and Opex savings by offering a low footprint, all-outdoor solution with fewer radios and smaller antennas that reduces tower loads and minimizes tower leasing costs.

Ceragon said that the IP-20 offers multi RAN-vendor interoperability capabilities, assisting telecom operators to save time and money to achieve 4G service availability across the country with high subscriber acquisition rates.
