Vodafone makes Rs 600 crore investment in Maharashtra network

Mobile operator Vodafone India has made an investment of Rs 600 crore to update its network in Maharashtra and Goa.

More than 1.85 crore customers in Maharashtra and Goa will benefit from Vodafone SuperNet service.

Vodafone has added more than 2500 cell sites in Maharashtra and Goa. Vodafone SuperNet 3G is available across 552 towns and 8934 villages.

Ashish Chandra, business head – Maharashtra and Goa, Vodafone India, said: “We made significant investments to expand, upgrade and modernize our network in Maharashtra and Goa in recent months.”

Vodafone added 1,410 kms of fiber backhaul in Maharashtra and Goa. The length of fiber backhaul is approx. 16,000 kms to ensure seamless mobile internet to its customers.

The company claims that it reduced call drops by 40 percent in last 6 months.
