Vodafone unveils 4G LTE services in Bengaluru

Vodafone 4G in BengaluruTelecom network operator Vodafone India today announced the launch of 4G LTE services in Bengaluru.

Vodafone has 26 lakh customers in Bengaluru. Earlier, the telecom operator launched 4G services in Mysuru.

Vodafone India will launch 4G LTE services – on 1800 MHz band — in Mangalore, Hubli and over 50 towns in a phased manner.

Bengaluru forms more than 46 percent of Vodafone India’s data users in Karnataka.

Vodafone has invested over Rs 725 crore in the past 18 months to expand and modernize its energy efficient network. Vodafone has 271 exclusive retail stores and 652 Rural Mini Stores in Karnataka. The mobile operator did not share 4G investment for the Bengaluru launch.

Vodafone 4G services are already available in parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata, Delhi and NCR and Mumbai. Kerala, Karnataka, Mumbai, Delhi & NCR and Kolkata contribute to 30 percent of industry revenues and close to 50 percent of Vodafone India data revenues.

Sunil Sood, managing director and CEO, Vodafone India said: “With this, we complete the first phase of roll-out of our 4G services across Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata, Delhi & NCR and Mumbai. Initial response from customers who have experienced our 4G services in these markets has been positive and encouraging.”
