Mobile World Congress 2012: CEVA to showcase new mobile DSP technologies

CEVA, a licensor of silicon intellectual property (SIP) platform
solutions and DSP announced that it will demonstrate its leadership in mobile
DSP technology for advanced communications and multimedia applications at
Mobile World Congress 2012.

 

Additionally,
CEVA will showcase a wide range of
smartphones, feature phones, tablets and other mobile computing devices that
are powered by CEVA DSPs.

 

The company
claimed that presently, CEVA’s DSPs power 42 percent of the world’s cellular processors,
and has shipped in more than 2 billion handsets to date.

 

At the event,
CEVA will demonstrate eyePoint, a virtual mouse interface, combining finger
tracking with face detection for mobile devices, running on
the CEVA-MM3101 development platform. 

 

The company’s
demonstrations include a software-based video stabilizer running on
the CEVA-MM3101development platform, Software-based LTE Baseband and
Software-based DTV Demodulation.

 

CEVA will
demonstrate a range of process-intensive video pre and post processing features
running on the CEVA-MM3101 platform, including face detection and
tracking, cropping and scaling. 

 

CEVA will
demonstrate speaker correction audio post-processing with a CEVAnet partner,
optimized for the CEVA-TeakLite-III DSP along with an advanced audio
beam forming and noise reduction on the CEVA-TeakLite-III DSP,
showing use-cases for smartphones and tablets. 

 

The company
will showcase its Dolby Mobile DM3+ optimized for
the CEVA-TeakLite-III DSP. In addition, it will demonstrate its MVC
decoder with stereoscopic view (3D) in HD resolution, implemented fully in
software on the CEVA-MM3000 platform.

 

A few months
back, CEVA invested $4.2 million, together with Mitsui & Co. Global Investment,
in eyeSight Mobile Technologies, a provider of touch-free interfaces for
smartphones, tablets, PCs, smart TVs and other digital devices.
