Afghan Wireless launches HD voice service

Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC) announced the launch of HD voice service across Afghanistan.

Afghan Wireless used Adaptive Multirate Wideband Technology (W-AMR), to provide HD voice communications to its subscribers on the 2.5G and 3G network.

The company’s HD voice service incorporates noise cancelation technology that reduces background sound to ensure better quality of service.

“AWCC’s HD Voice Service coupled with our 3G (HSPA+) Internet delivery system proves once again that we drive innovation within Afghanistan’s wireless communications sector,” said Amin Ramin, managing director of AWCC.

Afghan Wireless will be tapping companies that conduct conference calls, customer service centers and emergency services providers.

Afghan Wireless provides 2.5G, 3G and 3.75G voice, data, Internet and mobile banking services to more than four million business, consumer and Governmental clients in all of Afghanistan’s thirty-four provinces.

Globally 300,000,000 mobile subscribers use HD voice services.
