ARRIS router enables SK Broadband to launch 1Gbps broadband

SK Broadband, a telecom operator in South Korea, has deployed the ARRIS E6000 Converged Edge Router (CER) to launch the first 1Gbps broadband service in Asia Pacific.

SK Broadband serves 2.6 million customers with its IPTV service, growing by 189,000 customers in Q3 last year. The ARRIS E6000 CER has played an important pivotal role in delivering next generation services including the world’s first 4K (UHD upscaling) TV service, announced in August 2014.

“SK Broadband has benefited from choosing the ARRIS E6000 system, with its unprecedented level of service and channel density, both upstream and downstream. This will also give SK Broadband the capacity to grow the business over the coming years,” said Tim Gropp, senior vice president of Sales for Asia Pacific at ARRIS.
