GigOptix, a fabless provider of semiconductor and optical components, has
expanded its Monolithic-Microwave-Integrated-Circuit (MMIC) power amplifier
line with the addition of a 0.25W wideband distributed power amplifier for
military Electronic Warfare (EW), radar, test & measurement equipment and
broadband telecom equipment applications.
This amplifier augments GigOptix’s broad line of power amplifiers with
frequency coverage extending up to 90 GHz.
“We are excited to release the first new microwave product since our
acquisition of Endwave,” said Andrea Betti-Berruto, chief technology officer of
GigOptix.
“We have blended the skill sets of both design groups to create a superior
performing product. This product release further demonstrates our successful
and synergistic integration under the GigOptix umbrella,” Betti-Berruto added.
The iT2012 wideband distributed amplifier is available as bare die form and is
designed to enable straightforward integration into subsystems and
Multi-Chip-Modules (MCMs) by requiring few extra components for bias
decoupling. Engineering samples are available now.
GigOptix recently announced that a Taiwanese optical engine manufacturer entered production with GigOptix’s
HXT/R4 chip-set for use in a 40G Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable (QSFP) Active
Optical Cable (AOC) application.
