State-run operator BSNL has announced two new tariff plans aimed at reaching out to nine lakh paramilitary jawans. The two plans launched are the Paramilitary Plan and the Officer Plan for the jawans and officers respectively.
Under the Paramilitary Plan, jawans will get daily free talk time for 20 minutes on any two BSNL numbers, which is also roam-free, allowing jawans to talk from anywhere in the country.
The plan also offers reduced calling charges at 0.20 paisa/minute on any two BSNL numbers on mobile as well as landline. Jawans can choose any one BSNL number, anywhere in the country, to which they can call at 0.30 paisa per minute.
The Paramilitary Plan is available both on 2G and 3G along with downgraded video calling charges at 0.70 paisa per minute. Apart from this, a Rs 99 plan has been launched with fixed monthly charges of Rs 99 (inclusive of taxes), where jawans can enjoy per second pulse and tariff beyond freebies at 1 paisa per second, and also avail additional talk time worth Rs 75 per month. Providing another cost-saving scheme, BSNL has also launched a prepaid plan, whereby jawans can recharge their mobiles using vouchers.
Under the Officers Plan, serving officers can avail unlimited free calls to any BSNL number within a circle, and 500 free SMS – both local and national. Besides this, they can avail 1500 minutes of free STD calls on any BSNL number every month. This also includes 300 minutes of free incoming roaming calls and 200 minutes of free outgoing roaming calls. Other features of the plan also include per minute pulse, free night calling on one’s own network, unlimited free GPRS in Home LSA, STD calls at 0.40 paisa per minute and video calls at 0.70 paisa per minute. This comes at a fixed monthly charge of Rs 425 plus taxes.
