Idea Cellular Capex reaches Rs 884 crore in second quarter

Idea Cellular Capex (capital spending) in the second quarter of 2013 stood at Rs 883.8 crore. Telecom service provider has rolled out 3,762 2G cell sites and 550 3G cell sites during the second quarter, taking site count for GSM to 95,970 and 18,031 for 3G sites.

The Capex guidance for FY 2014 stands at Rs 3500 crore, excluding any spectrum related payout. The company is expected to participate in December 2013 or January 2014 spectrum auctions in India.

Idea Cellular also expanded its optical fibre network to 77,000 km.
