AT&T helps Texas School board members track education credits at annual conference

 

A service from AT&T, a top telecom service provider,
is about to get a test drive as a group of Texas school board members will
pilot a different way of submitting training credit information at the Texas
Association of School Boards’ annual conference kicked-off.

 

More than 50 board members will pilot a cloud-based
enterprise messaging platform to submit course credits of continuing education
sessions attended via text from their mobile devices. Conference organizers
hope that using the AT&T Global Smart Messaging Suite will improve the speed and efficiency of
continuing education reporting.

 

“Keeping track of continuing education credit
numbers can be a chore and TASB is exploring this option to simplify the task
for our members,” said Bill Nemir, Leadership Team Services director,
TASB.

 

“This is one innovative effort among many we will be
exploring to streamline credit recording and improve the integrity of the
process,” Nemir added.

 

AT&T Global Smart Messaging Suite allows Texas school
board members and superintendents to submit SMS via any text message enabled
mobile device to complete continuing education credits, cross-carrier messaging
application can support a variety of uses spanning employee communication,
business continuity, mobile marketing and branding, staffing and job placement,
scheduling and appointment reminders

 

AT&T Global Smart Messaging Suite provides 2-way SMS
messaging capabilities, as well as permissions control to allow access and cost
control for multiple workgroups.

 

Recently, AT&T opened
