Pay-TV solutions provider Exset appoints Gary Ellis as CTO

Telecom Lead India: Exset, a provider of pay-TV solutions, has appointed Gary Ellis as its chief technology officer.

Ellis has over 30 years’ experience in the television business.

Before joining Exset, Ellis worked with Seachange International/Events as its  director of Technology.

“We are delighted that Gary Ellis has joined our team and with his wealth of experience in this field, we know he’s the right person to take our business forward,” said Alex Borland, CEO, Exset.

“I’m looking forward to working with Exset, providing viable solutions for pay-TV in emerging markets. The challenge is to facilitate the creation of pay-TV systems that are suitable for the majority of the population, not just the elite. This requires an innovative approach to monetization, which is Exset’s core rationale,” Ellis said.

Ellis worked at senior levels on system and product architecture, product design and strategy. His other roles include director of Solutions Architecture at Microsoft Mediaroom, director of TV Solutions for NTL and Engineering Manager at Abekas Video Systems.

Exset has offices in the U.K., Estonia and India.

Exset provides software and security solutions to the television industry focusing in emerging markets where localisation, social and economic factors require a fresh approach form the traditional technology suppliers companies.
