Procera Networks bags $1.5 million order from North American MSO

Telecom Lead America: Procera Networks, an intelligent
policy enforcement company, has received a $1.5 million follow-on order from a
North American MSO.

Procera Networks will be offering PacketLogic 8920 that
supports detailed subscriber-aware traffic analysis and reporting throughout
cable networks to maintain a high Quality of Experience (QoE) for consumers
while optimizing network resources.

Procera expects to recognize the revenue from this in the
third quarter of 2012.

David Ahee, vice president of Sales Americas at Procera,
said cable operators require sophisticated network analysis tools to ensure a high
QoE for their subscribers, while enabling engineers to evolve the network to
meet these demands and optimize their infrastructure investments. Without
detailed network traffic analysis, cable operators risk delivering sub-standard
services that can result in customer churn.

The PL8920 supports Procera’s PacketLogic Intelligence
Center with PacketLogic Report Studio that provides network operators with a
detailed understanding of subscriber, device, application, and location-based
analytics.

Moreover, PacketLogic Report Studio delivers print-ready
reports, including executive overviews, detailed technical analysis, and even
the performance of different content delivery networks, which enables operators
to dramatically increase subscriber QoE.

The PL8920 supports up to 50 Gbps of network traffic
throughput accessible through six modular I/O slots that are configurable with
up to 12 x 10GE or 24 x 1GE interfaces. This configuration represents 25 Gbps
of throughput per rack unit, setting a new industry benchmark for IPE/DPI
platform throughput density.
