Cybernet, Pakistan’s leading fixed-line telecommunications provider, have deployed Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) network operating at an impressive 600Gbps per wavelength in partnership with Nokia.
This advanced optical network significantly enhances Cybernet’s ability to cater to the growing demand for high-quality broadband services across Pakistan.
In addition to the groundbreaking DWDM network, Cybernet has expanded its global presence by establishing international Points of Presence (POPs) in key locations such as Oman, France, the UAE, and Singapore.
These POPs are powered by Nokia’s 7750 SR and 7250 IXR routers, offering an advanced Internet Exchange Point (IXP) platform to a global peering community. This ensures optimal connection capacity to meet both current and future needs, providing Internet, EVPN, and MPLS-based services with rich Quality of Service (QoS) at the international POPs.
In response to the escalating demand for high-speed broadband access and network speeds, operators like Cybernet are proactively upgrading their optical networks. The collaboration with Nokia empowers Cybernet to deploy a future-proof optical network capable of delivering over 600Gbps per lambda. This upgrade substantially enhances the network’s capacity and speed, effectively connecting main metro sites within Pakistan.
Cybernet implemented Nokia’s advanced integrated Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) architecture based on flexgrid technology. This allows Cybernet to optimize and extend the reach of its optical network efficiently.
Nokia’s WaveSuite service enablement automation software provides additional software management and control functions, contributing to operational efficiency. Nokia said the deployment ensures low latency, superior quality of services, and an enhanced customer experience for broadband and enterprise customers.
