GSMA announces speakers and sponsors for MWC Africa

Telecom industry association GSMA announced speakers and sponsors for MWC Africa being held on 25 – 27 October 2022.
Mobile connecitivy in Afriva GSMA reportMWC Africa 2022 in Kigali, Rwanda, will host more than 120 expert speakers.

GSMA said Sanda Ojiambo, Assistant Secretary-General and CEO of the United Nations Global Compact, will join Keynote 1, alongside Smart Africa’s CEO, Lacina Kone, and the ATU’s Secretary General, John Omo.

By the end of 2021, 4.3 billion people were using mobile internet or 55 percent of the world’s population, up from 43 percent in 2017, according to GSMA.

Globally, the coverage gap reduced substantially over the last 7 years. The percentage of people outside the reach of mobile broadband networks fell from 19 percent in 2015 to 5 percent at the end of 2021.
