Belkin taps Airgain embedded antennas for Wi-Fi Dual-Band AC+ gigabit routers

Telecom Lead America: Belkin will be shipping its AC1000
DB and AC1200 DB Wi-Fi Dual-Band AC+ Gigabit Routers that incorporates high
performance embedded antennas from Airgain.

Airgain claims that embedded antennas were selected due
to its engineering integration and services approach for next generation WLAN
technologies.

Airgain has been designing and evaluating wireless
antenna solutions for 802.11-based wireless LAN devices since 2004.

By using Airgain’s embedded antenna technology and
integration approach, Belkin said the new 802.11ac router will allow consumers
to enjoy the full capabilities of this new technology.

“New wireless networking products require an
optimized antenna system to take advantage of the range and performance
benefits that 802.11ac technology provides. This provides improved speed and
coverage over previous generation 802.11n devices, and enhances the online
streaming experience for videos, movies, and music throughout the home,”
said Mike Chen, senior director of Networking at Belkin.

Airgain’s embedded antennas can also be found in several
Belkin 802.11n wireless routers, including the N150, N300, N600, and N900
series products.

“With the rapid proliferation of sophisticated Wi-Fi
devices and increased bandwidth necessity, we understand the need to
continually innovate and advance antenna technology,” stated Charles
Myers, Airgain’s President and CEO.
