T-Mobile achieved peak uplink speeds of 2.2 Gbps, the fastest recorded globally, in a test conducted at SoFi Stadium in Southern California.

T-Mobile reached 2.2 Gbps in uplink throughput, showcasing the ability to transmit data quickly from devices to the network, a crucial feature for crowded venues.

By aggregating 2.5 GHz and mmWave spectrums and allocating 60% of the mmWave resources for uplink (up from the usual 20 percent), T-Mobile’s 5G DC technology provided an unprecedented increase in uplink capacity.

The test at SoFi Stadium demonstrates how 5G DC can meet the demand for high-speed uploads at large events, supporting real-time livestreaming, social media posts, and high-definition content for broadcast teams.

The test involved Ericsson’s 5G network equipment and a Qualcomm Snapdragon X80 5G Modem-RF System.

T-Mobile’s 5G DC sets new standards for 5G networks, positioning the company to lead in providing seamless connectivity and high-speed experiences at crowded venues like sports events and concerts.

T-Mobile’s 5G network has reached over 330 million people across the U.S. T-Mobile does not reveal the number of 5G subscribers on its mobile network.
