Deutsche Telekom CEO Tim Hottges emphasized the company’s role as the “backbone of digital society” and the need for transformative change.

The company plans to implement artificial intelligence (AI) across all areas and build a self-improving, self-repairing network combining fiber, mobile, and satellite technologies. Deutsche Telekom did not reveal the size of its investment in AI.

Tim Hottges called for faster approval processes for mobile and fiber expansion in Germany, labeling it a matter of public interest.

He supports a state efficiency initiative led by Thomas de Maizière to modernize public administration.

In the U.S., Deutsche Telekom plans to expand its fiber-optic reach to 12–15 million households by 2030 through acquisitions of Metronet and Lumos.

Customer service saw improvement, with complaints down 28 percent and 74 percent of issues resolved on first contact.

New products like the Payzy digital payment app are driving growth beyond telecom, offering cashback benefits to users.

Deutsche Telekom reported €115.8 billion in revenue for the last financial year, a 3.4 percent increase.

Adjusted EBITDA AL rose 6.2 percent to €43.0 billion, free cash flow increased 18.7 percent to €19.2 billion, and adjusted net profit grew 18.3 percent to €9.4 billion in 2024.
