AT&T reported strong second-quarter 2026 financial results, supported by continued momentum in its fiber broadband, 5G wireless, and advanced connectivity businesses.

AT&T Q2 2026 financial result

AT&T generated revenue of $31.6 billion, an increase of 2.3 percent from $30.8 billion a year earlier, driven by higher fiber and wireless service revenues, including contributions from the acquisition of Lumen’s mass-market fiber business.

Operating income increased to $7.0 billion from $6.5 billion, while adjusted EBITDA grew 5.2 percent year over year to $12.3 billion.

AT&T’s Advanced Connectivity business remained the primary growth engine. Advanced Connectivity service revenue climbed 5.1 percent to $23.5 billion, while operating income surged 20.3 percent and EBITDA increased 8.0 percent to $12.0 billion.

“We continue to grow its base of high-value converged customers as it delivered a record quarter for combined fiber and fixed wireless net adds and its strongest consumer postpaid wireless account growth in more than three years,” John Stankey, AT&T Chairman and CEO, said.

The company added more than 1 million Advanced Connectivity customers during the quarter, delivering its strongest combined fiber and fixed wireless growth to date. Total consumer and business internet net additions reached 646,000, including 367,000 fiber subscribers and 279,000 fixed wireless subscribers. AT&T also added 432,000 postpaid phone subscribers, while maintaining a low postpaid phone churn of 0.86 percent, reflecting continued strength in its 5G wireless business.

AT&T Fiber Business

AT&T delivered another strong quarter for its fiber broadband business in Q2 2026, reinforcing fiber as the centerpiece of its long-term connectivity strategy. The company added 367,000 fiber net subscribers during the quarter, including 344,000 AT&T Fiber and 23,000 business fiber customers, contributing to a record 646,000 advanced connectivity internet net additions.

AT&T ended the quarter with 12.868 million fiber connections, comprising 12.144 million consumer AT&T Fiber connections and 724,000 business fiber connections. Fiber revenue also continued to expand, with AT&T Fiber generating $2.593 billion in advanced home internet revenue during Q2 2026.

The operator significantly expanded its fiber footprint by adding more than 1 million consumer and business locations during the quarter, increasing total fiber locations reached to 38.6 million. Of these, 33.7 million were owned and operated by AT&T, while 4.9 million were served through AT&T Fiber Ventures. Consumer fiber-served locations increased to 32.1 million.

Customer convergence continued to improve as 40.5 percent of AT&T Fiber customers also subscribed to AT&T Wireless, with 4.92 million fiber customers taking both services. Across all advanced home internet services, 42.5 percent of customers also used AT&T wireless, highlighting the company’s success in bundling fiber and 5G offerings.

AT&T remains on track to expand its fiber network to more than 40 million locations by the end of 2026 and over 60 million locations by 2030, supporting continued broadband subscriber growth and long-term revenue expansion.
