In 1Q11, 38 million broadband CPE
units shipped, a 2 percent increase from the previous quarter and an 11
percent increase from the same quarter last year.
Zyxel contributed to the overall market
growth with an impressive 71 percent increase in year-over-year unit shipments
according to In-Stat.
“Residential gateway unit shipments were down
slightly from the previous quarter but up 34.4% from the same quarter last
year,”said Brad Shaffer, analyst, In-Stat.
“This continues to be the fastest growing product
segment over the past year and is on pace for double-digit growth again in
2011,” Shaffer added.
