Vodafone 4G network in Mumbai
Telecom network operator Vodafone India has launched its 4G network in different business and residential centers of the Mumbai city and suburbs.

The Mumbai launch follows similar 4G network investments in Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Karnataka and Kerala.

Vodafone MD and CEO Sunil Sood said the mobile operator plans to cover the entire Mumbai area by March-end.

“Built on the 1,800 MHz band, the network will enable Vodafone 4G customers to access Internet via mobile speeds across a range of smart devices, including mobile Wi-Fi and dongles,” Sood said.

With the 4G launch in Mumbai, Vodafone is present in five circles which contribute 30 percent of industry revenues and nearly 50 percent of Vodafone India data revenues.

The 4G service can be accessed on 4G-enabled smartphones from Apple iPhone, Samsung, Micromax, Microsoft, Lava and Xolo.

Vodafone has nine million customers in Mumbai. The 4G network is built on a fiber backhaul of 100G and supported by its 3G services on a new and modern network.
