Dax Networks launches 3G enabled VPN router

Telecom Lead India: Dax Networks has launched a 3G enabled managed secure VPN router.

Priced at Rs 21,700 — offering a maximum bandwidth of 300 mbps — DX-924UI-ARO is an advanced version of previously launched DX-924U-ARO Router.

The target is enterprise customers, Dax said in a statement.

Dax plans to market this product through its network of Authorized Dax Solution Providers (ADSPs) and system integrators.

DX-924UI-ARO is integrated with 4 LAN 10/100 ports, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n LAN, additional 10/100 WAN port and an USB port for supporting CDMA/3G/4G/LTE

USB dongles from multiple ISP’s can be used and the drivers are in-built.

The 3G router comes with enterprise class routing protocols like L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol), DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server, IPSEC (Internet Protocol Security), GRE (Generic Routing Encapsulation) tunnels, NAT(Network Address Translation) and auto backup connection for 3G/4G.

Dax says the 3G router supports IPSEC VPN tunnel with highest encryption standards that ensure secure VPN tunnel between locations, making this router an ideal solution for connecting to the head office, through secure tunnel over broadband.

This router also supports L2TP and GRE tunneling. The VPN tunneling is the key differentiator and stands out when compared to traditional broadband routers which just support VPN pass through.

The critical requirement of back-up is made easy with the second WAN via USB. DX-924UI-ARO supports the auto failover and rollback of the primary link terminated on the WAN Ethernet. When the primary link fails, the backup link is initiated via CDMA/3G/4G/LTE. This also supports Internet and VPN failover.
