Airtel announced its additional investment in its 4G network in Karnataka to enhance the network experience for its smartphone customers.
Airtel has 27.192 million mobile phone customers on its 2G, 3G and 4G networks in the Karnataka state.
Airtel is making investment for the rollout of 4G services in the superior 900 MHz spectrum band in Karnataka. Airtel is already the fastest mobile network in Karnataka as compared with BSNL, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio.
Airtel’s investment in the 900 MHz spectrum will enable Airtel’s 4G smartphone customers to gain from improved 4G availability inside buildings – homes, offices and malls. It will also result in wider availability of Airtel 4G across Karnataka.
C Surendran, CEO – Karnataka, Bharti Airtel said, “The deployment of LTE 900 will further boost Airtel 4G coverage, particularly inside homes and buildings. Airtel smartphone customers will enjoy a seamless high speed data and HD quality calling experience on our upgraded network.”
Airtel, the leading telecom operator in India, has used a combination of 2300 MHz (TD LTE), 1800 MHz (FD LTE) and 900 MHz (LTE 900) in Karnataka to offer high quality 4G services to smartphone customers.
In addition, Airtel has deployed advanced network technologies and tools such as pre-5G Massive MIMO, 4G Advanced and Carrier Aggregation to step up high speed network capacity and coverage.
