Airtel brings LTE 4G services in Kolkata on Xolo, LG G2, Apple iPhone 5S and 5C

Bharti Airtel today said its LTE 4G services are available in Kolkata on smartphones such as Xolo LT 900, LG G2, Apple iPhone 5S and 5C.

Earlier, Airtel 4G was available through only data cards in Kolkata.

Bharti Airtel introduced 4G on smartphones in Bangalore first.

Airtel users need to upgrade their existing SIM to a 4G SIM and select from any 4G plan to start enjoying mobile internet browsing.

Customers can walk into Airtel stores at Salt Lake City Center 1, Park Street, Golpark and Dr. UN Brahmachari Street to experience live 4G demos.

Airtel 4G expands on smartphones

Airtel is promising high definition video streaming with zero buffering, downloading 10 movies in less than 30 minutes, uploading full holiday albums in less than 5 minutes by uploading 2 high quality photos per second.

While data browsing will be on 4G network, voice calls will be routed on 2G seamlessly with the CSFB (circuit switched fall back) technology.

Airtel took two years to offer 4G on smartphones to its customers in Kolkata after launching 4G on data cards in 2012.

Prepaid 4G will cost you around Rs 42. Airtel is also offering a special pack of Rs 999 for postpaid and Rs 995 for prepaid which will offer 10 GB of 4G data.
