Top 20 telecoms with Capex spending

Research report from MTN Consulting has revealed the latest statistics on the Capex of top 20 telecom operators.

China Mobile is the #1 telecom operator in the world in terms of capital expenditure in the fourth quarter of 2019. China Mobile made an investment of $5.7 billion during Q4 2019.

The fourth quarter Capex of Verizon Communications stood at $5.6 billion as it focused on building its fiber and 5G network across the United States.

NTT Japan invested $3.8 billion towards Capex in Q4 2019.

AT&T, the leading telecom operator in the United States, had a Capex spending of $3.8 billion.

Deutsche Telekom’s Capex spending touched $3.4 billion in Q4 2019.

China Telecom made an investment of $3 billion towards Capex programs during the fourth quarter.

SoftBank of Japan made an investment of $2.8 billion towards its Capex. The main focus of SoftBank in the building up of 5G network in Japana.

America Movil had Capex of $2.7 billion.

Orange made an investment of $2.5 billion towards Capex.

China Unicom, which is expanding its 5G network, had invested $2.4 billion during the fourth quarter of last year.

Vodafone, the second largest telecom operator based on mobile phone customers on its network, had a Capex of $2.3 billion in Q4.

Comcast had a Capex spending of $2.3 billion.

Charter Communications had a Capex spending of $2.3 billion.

Telefonica had a Capex spending of $2.2 billion.

BT, the leading telecom operator in the United Kingdom, had a Capex of $1.4 billion during the fourth quarter.

Saudi Telecom (STC) had invested $1.3 billion towards its Capex plans in Saudi Arabia in Q4 2019.

KDDI made an investment of $1.3 billion in Japan focusing on building its 5G network for enhancing its ARPU.

Telecom Italia (TIM) had a Capex of $1.3 billion.

SK Telecom’s fourth quarter Capex was $1.1 billion.

The fourth quarter Capex of Etisalat was $1.1 billion.

The top 20 list of top spending companies did not include Indian telecom operators such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio.
