Among category A telecom circles, Karnataka tops in ARPU with Rs 100 followed by Tamil Nadu including Chennai with Rs 96 and Andhra Pradesh Rs 95.
Among category B circles, Kerala leads in ARPU with 133, well head of Punjab with Rs 86 and Uttar Pradesh East with Rs 69.

Among category C circle, North East has an ARPU of Rs 91. Assam and Jammu & Kashmir have clocked ARPU of 89.
The TRAI statistics show that ARPU in metro circles indicates the weakening financial health of Indian telecom operators such as BSNL, Airtel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone, Reliance Jio, among others.
Indian telecom operators’ ARPU in Kolkata was Rs 63. ARPU of mobile service provider in Delhi was Rs 73. Operators have a pre-paid ARPU of Rs 98 in Mumbai.
On an average more than 95 percent of mobile phone users are pre-paid customers in India.
