Mediatek powers more smartphone models vs Qualcomm 

Mediatek is powering more number of smartphone models launched with 42.2 percent share followed by Qualcomm with 38.6 percent.
Qualcom leads the Indian chipset market in terms of volume of smartphones shipped in India during 2018, a report from techARC said.

Faisal Kawoosa, founder and chief analyst at techARC, said: “The 3rd party chipset usage is going to increase with 5G as well as increasing expectations from OEMs of a chipset. This requires huge R&D investments and expertise.”

The report is based on analysis of over 300 major smartphone launches in India capturing over 97 percent of the total market in 2018.
