Vodafone Idea has lost around 4 million mobile phone subscribers during June 2019 as it shifted focus on high ARPU customers.
Airtel India has managed to show stability in business. Airtel India’s mobile customer base reached 320.353 million in June from 320.383 million in May 2019.
Reliance Jio, the largest 4G service provider in India, has increased its mobile customer base to 331.255 million in June from 322.987 million in May 2019. 84 percent of mobile users of Jio and Vodafone Idea are active. 98 percent of Airtel India customers are active on its 2G, 3G and 4G networks.
BSNL’s mobile customer base increased to 116.161 million from 115.895 million in one month. But 57 percent of BSNL’s subscribers are active on the network.
India’s mobile subscriber base increased from 1,161.86 million in May 2019 to 1,165.46 million in June 2019.
Mobile subscription in urban areas increased from 656.27 million in May to 657.27 million in June.
Mobile subscription in rural areas increased from 505.59 million in May to 508.19 million in June.
The number of broadband subscribers increased from 581.51 million in May to 594.59 million in June.
Top broadband service providers are Reliance Jio with 331.26 million, Airtel with 121.49 million, Vodafone Idea with 110.52 million, BSNL with 21.93 million and Tata Teleservices with 1.76 million.
India’s top fixed broadband service providers are BSNL with 9.05 million, Bharti Airtel with 2.40 million, Atria Convergence Technologies with 1.45 million, Hathway Cable & Datacom with 0.84 million and MTNL with 0.74 million subscribers as on 30 June, 2019.
The top five mobile broadband service providers are Reliance Jio with 331.26 million, Bharti Airtel with 119.09 million, Vodafone Idea with 110.50 million, BSNL with 12.87 million and Tata Teleservices with 1.40 million.
