In anticipation of National Apprenticeship Week, scheduled from February 5 to 11, 2024, Virgin Media O2 has unveiled plans to fortify its early career scheme by hiring approximately 200 graduates, interns, and apprentices throughout the year.
Virgin Media O2’s apprenticeship programs are designed to equip apprentices with in-demand skills, provide them with recognized qualifications, and open doors to careers that, in some instances, would traditionally require a degree. Graduates and interns will have the unique opportunity to explore different departments, facilitating the discovery of a career path that aligns with their interests and skills.
The range of roles available spans diverse sectors, including field engineering, where apprentices focus on ensuring customers remain connected through the installation and repair of products in homes. Additionally, roles in finance are on offer, providing successful applicants with exposure to various areas of financial operations and building fundamental accounting knowledge.

Karen Handley, Head of Future Careers at Virgin Media O2, emphasized the company’s commitment to breaking down barriers for talented young individuals entering the workforce.
“It’s wrong that many talented young people are being overlooked for entry-level roles because they don’t have prior experience – it’s creating unnecessary barriers for people starting out in their career,” Karen Handley said.
With over 200 apprentice, graduate, and intern positions available across the UK this year, Virgin Media O2 aims to provide young people with the chance to build the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful future career.
