Videocon Mobile Services starts Young Manch program

Videocon Mobile Services has started Young Manch, a youth engagement program.

The new initiative – which offers opportunity to showcase talent in singing, dancing, acting etc. — is aimed at attracting India’s growing youth population to Videocon’s telecom services.

Recently, Videocon Mobile Services said it would start 4G services next year in select circles. Nokia Solutions Networks (NSN) is its 4G network partner.

“Young Manch will be running every year. We have already kick started the program in some colleges across Punjab and Haryana, and the response is overwhelming,” said Arvind Bali, director & CEO, Videocon Telecommunications.

Recently, smartphone major BlackBerry sponsored a college-level event in Mumbai and offered BlackBerry Q5 handsets as gifts to winners.

Videocon Mobile Services’ Young Manch program will be available in 30 cities, over 120 colleges/institutes and will connect with over 10 lakh students.

The initial competition will be at college level. After this, the winners will compete at city level under the City Finale, who would further compete at the Grand Finale which will be at the state/circle level activity.

The event will have two categories — talent and personality.

Prizes include 42-inch LEDs, tablets, handsets, etc.

In addition, some of the winners will become the next face of Videocon Mobile Services and will feature in all the advertisements of the service provider for one year.

Videocon Mobile Services also announced V-Spot that enables students of select colleges/institutes to benefit from unlimited local Videocon calls in their campus for Rs 59 for 2 weeks and 99/111 for 4 weeks.
