TeliaSonera names Soren Abildgaard as acting head of commercial and tech unit

Telecom network operator TeliaSonera has appointed Soren Abildgaard as acting head of the newly combined commercial and technology unit group.

TeliaSonera said it is searching for the head for the new unit which was formed as per the latest strategies of the telecom operator.

Soren Abildgaard is currently the CEO of Telia Denmark. Soren Abildgaard will also assume the position as chief commercial officer. The new combined unit will be operational as of 1 January 2016.

Morten Bentzen, head of Enterprise Telia Denmark, will be the new CEO of Telia Denmark.

Erik Hallberg, previous head of Region Eurasia, will be the head of the new unit Global Businesses that will become part of the combined Group Commercial-Group Technology unit.

“The new Commercial and Technology unit are critical for us to succeed with commercial excellence, technology leadership and our transformation program,” said Johan Dennelind, president and CEO, TeliaSonera.
