Telecom Lead Latin America: Telecom Argentina has
posted consolidated revenues of P$5.1 billion for the first quarter of 2012, up
24 percent as compared to P$4.1 billion for the first quarter of 2011.
The company posted mobile revenues of P$3.7 billion for
the first quarter 2012, up 29 percent against P$2.8 billion for the same
quarter of previous year.
The company’s revenues from fixed services stood at p$1.4
billion, up 14 percent versus $1.2 billion for the Q1 of 2011.
The company’s CAPEX was P$690 million for the first
quarter, increased 49 percent as compared to P$462 million for the first
quarter of 2011.
Telecom Argentina posted a net income of P$708
million for the period ended March 31, 2012, up 11 percent when compared
to the same period last year, due to a higher operating profit and positive
financial results. Net income attributable to Telecom Argentina amounted to
P$698 million, up 10 percent against Q1 of 2011.
Total revenues for voice service reached P$782 million in
1Q12, up 6 percent against Q1 of 2011. In addition, revenues generated by
measured services totaled P$299 million, an increase of P$20 million or 7
percent increase as compared to 1Q11.
Revenues related to Internet totaled P$458 million, up 31
percent against 1Q11, mainly due to the continued expansion of broadband
services. Data transmission revenues amounted to P$163 million, up 21 percent
against 1Q11).
In 1Q12, revenues to third parties reached P$3,506
million, up 28 percent against Q1 of 2011 while service revenues (excluding
equipments) amounted to P$3,101 million, increased by 28 percent versus Q1
2011, with 52 percent corresponding to value-added services revenues. The
company’s VAS revenues increased 44 percent in the Q1 of 2012, against the
first quarter of 2011.
During the quarter, clients reached 20.8 million,
representing an increase of 2.0 million or 10 percent since March 31, 2011.
At the end of Q1 2012, Personal reached 18.5 million
subscribers in Argentina, up 10 percent or 1.7 million against 1Q11.
Nucleo, the company’s subsidiary in
Paraguay generated revenues equivalent to P$199 million during 1Q12, up 34
percent against the first quarter of 2011. Moreover, the level of ARPU reached
approximately Gs.27,000 in 1Q12 as compared to Gs.25,000 one year ago.
Telecom Argentina revenue up 26% in 2011
For 2011, Telecom Argentina posted net revenues P$18,525
million in 2011, up 26 percent against P$14,679 million in 2010.
Telecom Argentina reported net income of
P$2,422 million for the annual period ended December 31, 2011, up 33
percent against the same period last year, due to a higher operating profit and
positive financial results.
