T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon offer free call and text to France

American wireless operators T-Mobile US, Sprint and Verizon have offered free call and text to France in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 128 people.

T-Mobile said its Simple Choice postpaid customers can make free call and text to and from the United States including Puerto Rico and France from Friday, November 13 through Monday, November 16, 2015.

Verizon is offering free calling from the United States to France through the weekend. Wireless customers of Verizon will incur no charges for texts or international long distance calls from the U.S. to France between November 13 and November 15, 2015. Home telephone customers can make free calls to France from their U.S. landlines.

Sprint, a SoftBank owned telecom network operator, is waiving international long distance, roaming and SMS charges to France for all Sprint, Boost and Virgin Mobile customers. All Sprint postpaid and prepaid customers from anywhere around the world will receive free international long distance usage to France until a yet-to-be determined date.

Verizon Wireless has 109.5 million and Sprint has 58.6 million wireless subscribers in the U.S. T-Mobile is the third largest wireless operator in the US, ahead of Sprint.
