Singtel Singapore reported a 3.1 percent decline in operating revenue to S$901 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with S$929 million a year earlier, as intense price competition affected its mobile business.
Growth in Data and Internet revenue was offset by lower contributions from Mobile, information and communications technology, and legacy services. EBITDA fell 4.6 percent following the revenue decline, while EBIT decreased 2.2 percent. The smaller EBIT contraction reflected lower depreciation and amortisation charges resulting from a reduced asset base.
Singtel mobile revenue drops 5.1 percent
Singtel Singapore’s mobile revenue declined 5.1 percent year over year to S$407 million from S$429 million. However, it increased sequentially from S$389 million in the March 2026 quarter.
Mobile service revenue fell 4 percent to S$290 million from S$303 million a year earlier, primarily due to lower average revenue per customer. It improved sequentially from S$280 million.
Roaming revenue increased during the quarter, supported by improved wholesale volume, but the growth was insufficient to offset competitive pressure across the mobile business.
Singtel had 4.547 million mobile customers at the end of June 2026, down 0.6 percent from 4.575 million a year earlier but higher than the 4.496 million recorded in March 2026.
Average mobile revenue per customer per month declined 4.7 percent to approximately S$22 from S$23 a year earlier. The rounded ARPU figure remained at S$22 compared with the March quarter.
Mobile data usage surges 19.2 percent
Average mobile data consumption of Singtel smartphone customers jumped 19.2 percent year over year to 20 GB per customer per month from 17 GB. Usage was unchanged from the 20 GB recorded in March 2026.
The sharp increase in data consumption contrasted with the decline in mobile revenue and ARPU, highlighting the impact of intense pricing competition on Singtel’s ability to convert higher network usage into revenue growth.
Fixed broadband revenue falls to S$125 million
Fixed broadband revenue of Singtel decreased 2.6 percent year over year to S$125 million from S$128 million. Revenue was also below the S$127 million reported in the March 2026 quarter.
Singtel’s fixed broadband base declined 1.3 percent to 684,000 lines from 693,000 a year earlier. The company had 686,000 fixed broadband lines in March 2026.
Singtel TV revenue declines 8.3 percent
Singtel TV revenue recorded the largest percentage decline among the reported Singapore product segments, falling 8.3 percent to S$29 million from S$31 million a year earlier. Pay-TV revenue also declined sequentially from S$30 million.
Fixed-voice revenue dropped 5.8 percent year over year to S$42 million from S$45 million. However, fixed-voice revenue increased from S$41 million in the March quarter.
Singtel Singapore’s June-quarter performance reflects continued pressure across mobile, broadband, pay-TV, fixed voice and ICT services. Higher Data and Internet revenue, rising roaming wholesale volume and a 19.2 percent increase in mobile data usage provided growth signals, but they could not offset weaker ARPU and declining revenue across core connectivity services.
