NTT DOCOMO Ventures has made an investment in Inbenta Technologies, an artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) products company. Inbenta plans to use the funds to enhance its product and accelerate business growth.

NTT DOCOMO did not reveal the specific investment in the AI technology company. It will be using the AI technology targeting the Japanese telecom market.

Inbenta, founded in Barcelona and now headquartered in Silicon Valley, has doubled in size over the past two years.

Inbenta’s patented software based on the Meaning-Text Theory (MTT) is deployed by over 250 large enterprises across 6 continents for use cases in banking, insurance, telecom, retail, travel, technology, and transportation. Inbenta did not reveal the client details and its revenue growth.

Inbenta automates over 300 plus million real-time customer interactions per year across the web, mobile, social, and SMS channels, and natively supports 30 languages.

Inbenta empowers enterprise and e-commerce companies to improve customer satisfaction rates and reduce support costs, said Inbenta CEO Jordi Torras.

Inbenta has a business partnership with NTT Communications for launching service brand COTOHA Chat & FAQ for the Japanese market. The service employs Inbenta’s semantic search engine and engages customers on interfaces including through chatbots, FAQs, search tools, and inquiry forms.
